Rust <something>, but it wasn't always like that...
Deleted Characters
* Rust Evariste - The first Rust Evariste. Evariste is the first name of Evariste Galois, a mathematical genius if there ever was one, who died tragically in a duel at age 20. Created on another account and ultimately lead me to buy this game myself. Soon deleted.
* Zen Varelse was my first character - besides being a Swedish word (or having its roots in Swedish) 'Varelse' is also the 4th classification in the Hierarchy of Alienness from Orson Scott Card's Ender series. A ranger that lived a long time before a PvP slot did him in. In the same vein was Zen Utlanning, who spent some time as a mule, then was baleeted as well.
* Valentine Galois - Besides being a mesmer-ish name, Valentine is the name of Ender's sister in the aforementioned Ender series. Galois is the last name of the previously mentioned mathmatician. Deleted for a PvP slot also.
* Mahatma Gandhi - Surprise, monk. Deleted after about 6 months of constant play - the name eventually wears on you.
----------------------
Current Characters
* Rust Evariste - My primary character, a monk.
* Rust Sanada - A ranger created recently because the value of PvE rangers has gone up so much. Function over form, I say. Sanada comes from the name of the well known ninja clan that kept itself alive despite being drastically outnumbered.
* Rust Ragequits Life - I el oh el-ed at this. A warrior.
* Rust Cryface - An especially emo necro.
-------------
PvP characters
Usually it's whatevers clever at the moment (like Rust Owns JR), but Rust Fours, Rust Eights, and Rust Twelves are rolled for whatever needs to be done.

Well, my first character was named Priest Of Sin, because he was a Necromancer Monk, and I thought it was witty. But then I made my second character, Wtfomg Roflcopter, and he was deleted shortly thereafter due to drunkenness when I created him. Then I made Warmaster Aldaris, because I thought Warmaster Grast needed to be beaten down by another Warmaster. Then I created Divinus Dolor (which means divine pain in latin) because I slammed myself in the toe with a bible. Then the rest of my characters are just variations of Priest Of (something).

The names of my characters have meaning to them. I usaly sort of figure out what I'm going to do with my character before naming them. The names mean a lot to me and I sometimes put hours into finding the right one. So either the first/last or both names meanings are what my character is or does.
I get all of my names from babynamesworld.com. I use the advance tool. Like for my warrior I typed warrior goddess. My elementalist is Bethany Moonfyre. I picked Bethany cause it's my first name so you can kind of figure out that she is a fire ele.

My first character was named Nola Effay which was an anagram of my real name. He is still alive and well and expecting his first birthday gift with bated breath. I then settled on a theme of making my PVE character names completely, utterly and disgustingly cutesy, resulting in the creation of the following:
- Fluffy Snugglecakes (Mesmer)
- Woof Puppylover (Ritualist)
- Pup Woofylover (Assassin - he's really Woof's little brother)
- I Cocoa Puffs I (Monk - named him in a moment of weakness)
One character slot still open... I see a Snuggly Flufflecakes in my future...

I sense a theme here. Are you by any chance a "My little Pony" or a Carebear fan?

Ah... MLP and Carebears... don't think I didn't look into those for inspiration. That aside, I really like how these names fit in with the whole point of GW PVP -- to brutally, efficiently and mercilessly slaugher one another

Ranger: Catherine Seeker (My first name, but also Seeker which is something that rangers are sometimes called in some of the many fantasy novels that I have read.)
Monk: Palidin Of Nas (From what I have read, a paladin does not have to be a warrior. So much as someone with the favor of the gods, that fights for the weak. I also really like the rapper Nas. I thought of going with Paladin Of Illmater(a D&D god that is into self inficting the pain) because of the life sac for energy. I just wasn't feeling it though.)
Necromancer: Artemis the Grey (I really liked the sound of it. Grey is generally considered neither good nor evil so it just fit.)
Warrior: Iron Mike Tyson (I wanted to use the name Pretty Boy Floyd because he is my favorite boxer. I could not though. Apperently there is a band that also has that name. Mike Tyson in his prime is like nothing I have ever seen before, so it is just as good a name for my warrior.)
Mesmer: A Two Way Freak (If any of you guys have heard that song you will know it is perfect for a domination mesmer. It is also a song by the Oscar winning Three 6 Mafia.)

Ahhh... Heartseeker is the name, and Ranger is my game.
I seek the hearts of young maidens to steal,
and those of my enemies to swiftly kill.
A quiet whisper to ignite a flame of passion,
or an arrow fired with a killer's compassion.
I care not for the hearts that I break,
nor the lives of those I silently take.
I have no sympathy for those in my sight,
and will simply disappear into the night.
It matters not that I have told you my name,
fade it will, like a gentle breeze, all the same.

That's pretty awesome. My surname is also Tong. I'm half Vietnamese & Chinese. I can't speak chinese at all but I know a bit of vietnamese though. Not bad for being born in the States
Anyway, onto my names
Warrior: Silvergun Superman. I was listening to Stone Temple Pilots while creating my warrior and this song started to play. So I decided to name him after the song It actually fits him quite nicely.
Ranger: Iva Scythea. I got Iva from Ivy. I was thinking about plants, forests, and such and Poison Ivy came to mind. Since Ivy is more feminine, I decided to drop the 'Y' and add the 'A'. Scythea is from Scythe, just added the 'A' as well.
Elementalist: Constantine Reznor. Well, I got Constantine from that movie Constantine and Reznor from Trent Reznor; singer from Nine Inch Nails. I thought Reznor sounded pretty awesome. This name suits my ele
Mesmer: Prince Fei Wong. When I think of Mesmers, royalty comes to mind. So Prince was a no-brainer here for me. For Fei Wong, I got it from Wang Fei Hong. The character played by Jet Li in his earlier martial arts movies.
Ritualist: Viginti Vendetta. I got Viginti from Tool's new song Viginti Tres on their new album 10,000 Days. As for Vendetta, I got it from watching V for Vendetta. And the two words came together nicely and fits my rit.
Assassin: Fearless Dragonclaw. After watching Jet Li's new movie called Fearless, I thought wouldn't it be cool to name my assassin Fearless? After all, he is an assassin. Dragonclaw is just something I thought when thinking of Asian culture.

The name of my Necromancer goes back several years to when I started going to online forums. I meant to type 'orion' but accidentally typed 'orian' :P (I was around 12-13, bad typing skills lol) since then I've used Orian on almost everything dealing with the internet, my other name if you would (even in real life now), then I got the title "the Black" through a story I don't want to tell right now, its too lame lol; Thus Orian the Black, and it only seemed fitting for my Necro.
My Me, Scarlet Sith, well...obviously inspired by StarWars, as if my Rit, Scarlet Katarn.

I'll only tell you about those characters I really do play with... having 3 accounts has it's disadvantages too.
1) Anilya Alabaster - my second ever character, a healer monk. Her last name comes from Magic: The Gathering CCG's card Alabaster Potion, a crappy healing spell. It just sounded cool.
Her first name resembles a lot a Turkish holday resort Alanya (or how do they spell it)... and it just sounded good to my ears.
2) Luna Moonflower - my try with a protector monk. I was thinking about moon when naming here, as you maybe can tell But when naming her, somebody had already taken the name I wanted, Luna Mooncrescent... so I picked up the next best thing and it has proved to be quite nice, I like the name nowadays a lot better than at the early stages. And for some reason people call me "Lunny" for it
3) Lyra Ap Gwynneth - my wammo. Named after a character in paper & pencil rpg loooooong time ago... just took the name back into use. And then later I have learned there's an author who has come up with the same name - weird.
She has few sister-characters in Shanna Ap Gwynneth and Adelia Ap Gwynneth... all named after my early experiences with rpg'ing.
4) Eliana Swiftsabe - her name was actually created by a friend of mine and there's a story why her last name is not Swiftsabre but - sabe... Back in 1994 I was playing rpg's with my friends and GM needed a character in the group (a.k.a. Mouth of Gods). She came up with Eliana... later on (like few years) my friend noticed he had written her name in the form it is now, and not as he had intended... but the damage was done and the name was never changed.
5) Nika Nightshade - My assassin ... And I was like surprised that the name wasn't already taken. Nightshade reminds me for all the things afoot at night... scary stuff. And Nika just sounds perfect.

Elthanor Oakblade-Elthanor was a name i made up, and Oakblade is for the ranger part.
Gwydian Stormwolf-Its a name from the book by Lloyd Alexander, The Prydain serice. Very good books, he was the Price, the Sons Of Dawn. And stormwolf is just annoying now... I wish I could change it.
Vorin the Shade-Shade for Eragon, the evil people and Vorin just sounds mean >
Shimazu Windwalk-My japanese Assasin, Shimazi being I think the name of my greatgreatgreatgreatgrandfather(Samurai blood). Or so my dad saids, And Windwalk for the Warcraft spell by Blademaster, making him invisible.

My Wa/M'os name, Desert Penguin, got his name from penguins that live in deserts, which are my favorite animals. Have you seen the penguins in Egypt? Lol, just kidding. Desert Penguin is just an oxymoron, since Penguins cannot live in Deserts, which is the complete opposite climate of where they are supposed to live
My Mesmers name is Snow Camel, which is another oxymoron

Most of mine came from a bit of thought and wanting to relate their professions to everyday phrases - with the exception of my warrior and monk, the warrior I couldn't be bothered to think and the monk name I wanted had already gone!
My ele was named Flame Throwers,
my mesmer is Bobbi Dazzlin,
my ranger is Tan Gwyllt (which means both fireworks or literally "wild fire" in Welsh)
my monk is Seren Aur (was going to be Seren Dipity hehe!)
and my warrior is Athena the Heathen.
